There was a quote that I heard in a movie at the video store the other day that for some reason has stuck with me today. A grown up is speaking to a heart broken child and say's, "When your a child, every thing feels like the end of the world."
Does that ever change when you become an adult?
We cry over broken hearts, deaths of some one we love, the loss of a close friend or the feeling that you are loosing a friend that you have always felt connected to.
We worry about weather or not we will fit in to a extended group of friends that you get introduced into, we even have things and people that we are afraid of.
Are we so different from a child? The only difference is that even when we feel like it is the end of the world, we keep on going, when some thing scares us, we can't hide in the closet till it goes away and for a child, it is easier to forgive and move on like nothing happened.
In some way's I think adults should be more like children, Forgive more easily when it is needed, not hold grudges over things in past arguments, and try to love a little bit more unconditionally and hold those I care for always close to my heart.
A child can teach you a lot if you take time to listen.

In the beginning
In the beginning, there were two halves that became one whole. Thinking that they would last forever the whole became 5 times more. As days and years went by they smiled happily enjoying their group of many, working and striving to keep all happy and healthy together.
But one day a storm came bringing many other's into their small little world, each one creating a bigger gap between the two halves this world had began with.
The 5 they had chosen to bring into the world were left stuck in the middle, unable to do any thing but watch their comfortable world become torn apart by the many that clearly did not belong there.
Eventually there little world was torn into two whole parts. Both in which loved these little peices so much that they created them selves a way bring them into both places places at once. So they turned them into stars that shined on and brightened both worlds.

The point is some times, even when you feel something is going to last forever, it isn't always a guarantee that it will. But it is the little special things that come along with the journey that make it all worth while.
To my children whom we both love dearly, it may be hard at times but your dad and I are both so very lucky to have all of you shining in our skies and brightening both of our lives.
